The IGD Awards toasted the success of the grocery industry in a glittering ceremony held in London last night.

More than 600 people toasted the best in food and grocery at an awards ceremony hosted by journalist and broadcaster, Fiona Bruce.

The award winners were selected by judges from across the food and grocery supply chain, while three of the winners were voted for by shoppers.

Essential Retail was in attendance, applauding the winners of the evening, including the likes of The Co-op, Iceland, M&S, Morrisons and many more.

“For more than 25 years, the IGD Awards have celebrated the achievements of our truly world-class industry. These are hotly contested awards and this year the bar was set as high as ever. Yet again we received a very large number of entries, which is testament to the innovative, high-quality work taking place across our industry,” said Joanne Denney-Finch, IGD chief executive.

“We’re living through challenging times, yet our industry never fails to impress in its determination to continue surprising and delighting shoppers. Many congratulations to all our winners and finalists.”

The big tech-related awards, included: The IGD Business Transformation Award, sponsored by KPMG, which was won by The Co-op; The IGD Supply Chain Innovation Award, which was won by Morrisons; The IGD Digital Engagement Award, sponsored by E Fundamentals, which was won by Spoon Guru; and The IGD Online Retailer of the Year Award, sponsored by Alpro, which was won by Iceland.co.uk.
