Tesco has rolled its PayQwiq mobile payments app out to every Tesco store in the country, following positive feedback during its trial in London and Edinburgh.

The app is available for Android and iOS smartphones and allows customers to pay for goods and collect Clubcard points at the same time. The app generates a QR code which is scanned at the POS and customers can spend up to £250 using PayQwiq.

The app also provides transaction history and Clubcard points balance.

"PayQwiq offers customers a simple, convenient and secure way to pay that helps them save time at the checkout and collect Clubcard points with one simple scan of their smartphone," said Mark Loch, digital wallet and group payments strategy director. "Since the initial roll-out of PayQwiq, customer feedback has been very positive and we are delighted to make PayQwiq available to all Tesco customers across the UK."
