Hotel group Marriott International is now offering virtual tours for its European Convention Network (ECN) business, allowing meeting and event planners to check out its facilities online.
ECN has a collection of 14 gold standard convention hotels in Europe, and using UK tech company GoInStore's system potential customers can receive a personalised preview of function spaces during the booking process. Event managers will be able to use the real-time mobile technology to conduct interactive virtual tours via a live one-way video stream and two-way audio channel.
Potential customers can view multiple sites in the same session, during the six-month trial period.
Pauline Bronkhorst, head of the ECN, said: "Many of our customers plan large annual or bi-annual events in different cities, and are unable to carry-out site visits in person – our virtual tours offer the perfect solution and planners can continue to enjoy personalised interaction combined with the benefits of state-of-the-art technology to make well-informed decisions on their venue choices."
Launched in February 2016, Marriott's ECN is an events business that utilises the company's JW Marriott, Renaissance Hotels, Marriott Hotels, AC Hotels and Autograph Collection Hotels.
In the retail space GoInStore's technology as been trialled by furniture business Heal's, while existing partners who use the technology to link the offline and online shopping experience include AMARI supercars and independent musical instruments retailer, Dawsons Music.
